Currently Bafana Bafana are overwhelmed by the occasion. They will need to get the butterflies off their stomachs and that ‘apple on the throat’ feeling. The pressure of expectation is telling but half the game is gone. It wasn’t Bafana’s.
Mexico came prepared for everything. They accepted to be led to a slaughter pole without much fear. It’s helping them. They are throwing caution to the wind with a nothing to lose attitude.
The second half will probably see a settled display by South Africa. They need a little composure. There is no comfort on the ball and that’s what the Coach is barking now in the dressing room.
I will not expect any changes from Bafana side whom I think the coach will want to settle early. The goalless first half is an advantage to Bafana and it’s gone. The coach expects the midfield to stamp their authority as soon as we start. Later on we will see changes in the first 10-15 minutes of the restart. MacBeth is likely to come in for Dikgacoi.
