Bosso can still win the League

It never rains but pours for Bosso. There has been issues with fans trouble during a Cup final match against Motor Action which the team lost. As if the possible bans and fines were not enough, Tshilamoya lost to Dynamos on Sunday. Chances are that even suspended sentences will come into play to suck the Black and White team dry.

Highlanders Football Club who can still win the League mathematically, lost 3 valuable points in a Castle Premier League match against Dynamos at Harare’s Rufaro Stadium by a 3-1 goal margin. A loss to Dynamos no matter the competition is always a hard pill to swallow for the legion of fans for the Bulawayo side. The value of the points is outweighed by the significant of abhorred dominance of one by another.

This particular loss is by a large margin and more significantly, while propelling the archrivals to cementing the second position on the log and giving Dembare a good shot at the title, it dropped Highlanders to 6th on the log. The Sunday loss came after a reported good display, and the blame has been put on the wrong substitution.

The former multi-title winning side is on a dry spell having gone 3 matches without a victory, and financially struggling, having to depend on a begging bowl. This has failed to attract quality players and experienced technical staff, though Mkhuphali Masuku, under the circumstances is doing well.

Eric Mudzingwa hammered home the opener in the early moments after a fumble by the goalkeeper, Arubi who spilled a Simon Munawa shot. The lead was cut short when Dynamos found the equaliser from  Mutuma who scored a Cuthbert Malajila cross.

The same man and Martin Vengesayi who came in for Murape Murape scored a further 2 goals to seal the misery for Amahlolanyama. Bosso needed the points to fancy their chances of a top 4 finish, a very desperate consolation, but believe it or not, the Bulawayo giants would have preferred to win the man and earn no points.

With 4 matches left, the 12 points at stake would leave Mantengwane sitting pretty at 51 and assuming the rest of the teams above them lose all their matches, would make Bosso the champions. However, Highlanders need to do itself favours by beating contenders to win anything.
