Bosso rakes $ 45,k

Bulawayo soccer giants, Highlanders Football Club, collected $45 098 through gate takings as a record crowd this season of 13 601 fans paid their way on Sunday against Caps United.

However, Bosso got a net profit of $14 395.

“Our attendance rose by 68% from the last game against Harare City, our gross went up by 70% and our net by 82%,” said club treasurer, Odial Nkomo.

Nkomo said last season against Caps United, only 8 000 fans watched the game saying they are expected more than 20 000 fans against Dynamos.

The Sunday high turnout was a confidence boost to the team.

Highlanders beat visiting Caps United one nil through a Masimba Mambare header to collect maximum points. By Sbue Sibanda.

  1. Glory days are coming back. its not even bad to make a profit of $15 000 from $45 000. Its a step in the right direction. So the secret is clear, win win win win and people will come to the stadium. Who wants to go to the stadium for trash?

    • But actually, what comes first; the results or the motivation to get results? I think the it does not matter now, but players need support especially when the chips are down. Playing in front of concrete seats is not appetising compared to ukhwelo. Thanks Be and it’s been a lng time. Hope usaphila.
