Jomo Cosmos boss, Jomo Sono, says that Benjani Mwaruwari will be the one to make the decision on his future. The former Cosmos striker started training with Sono’s squad last week, as revealed in issue 782 of Soccer-Laduma, and a potential deal is on the cards.
Sono explained that his presence at the club is beneficial to the rest of the squad, although their is no urgency in penning a deal. “He is just training at the moment and his presence helps to motivate the players. We are not in a hurry with him. He is the one who will tell us about what he wants,” said Sono.
Mwaruwari is seeking a return to the PSL following a successful career abroad. However, according to Sono, the former Portsmouth and Manchester City player is carrying a knee injury and is being cautious over it.
Depending on his recovery from injury and his willingness to help Cosmos in the NFD, the 33-year-old could end up signing with his old club. By Sbue
